The return of the Dinkas 1/30 play   contact sheet

Following the signing of the peace agreement in January 2005 and the subsequent handover of the town of Bor to the government of Southern Sudan, a group of 12000 Dinkas decided, in 2006, to return on foot to their former homes via Juba. They had fled Bor for Maridi, in Western Equatoria 18 years ago to escape fighting between Sudanese government forces and the Sudan People's Liberation Army (SPLA). As men walked their way home with up to half a million cattle, the most vulnerable groups of this internally displaced population, were taken home by IOM (International Organization for Migration) on a barge during an 18 hour journey on the White Nile.
